What to know at a glance
One-month borrowing. The published borrowing range starts at R 500. Approval and your final terms depend on the lender’s assessment.
Fees and the full cost
The official FAQ publishes an initiation-fee formula and monthly service/insurance charges, but not a complete tariff. Clause 13 of the currently linked website terms directs borrowers to their individual loan quotation and application for the loan conditions.
- Initiation fee
- The FAQ states R165 on the first R1,000 advanced plus 10% of the amount above R1,000, plus VAT. It lists caps of 15% of the loan amount or R1,050 plus VAT without identifying which applies to each product. Confirm the product-specific cap and amount in writing.
- Monthly service fee
- A monthly service fee is charged to the loan account. The FAQ and currently linked website-terms PDF do not give its numerical amount or separate VAT breakdown. Request the itemised fee in your loan quotation; the website terms are not a pricing schedule.
- Credit life / protection
- The FAQ says credit protection is included in the loan contract and charged monthly, with death, permanent disability and retrenchment cover during the original term. Own insurance is allowed with proof. The premium, calculation basis, full exclusions and detailed replacement requirements remain unconfirmed. The public insurance directory describes funeral and education products; those documents do not establish the terms of this loan’s credit-life cover.
Compare your total repayment as well as the monthly instalment. Ask for a written quote showing the exact rate, initiation fee, service fees and insurance applicable to you.
This is the one-month product; do not apply the separate two-to-six-month or longer-term conditions to it. Specific rates and the full insurance schedule need a written quote.
